Hi I'm Korena Darnelle

Photography has always been a huge part of my life. Sitting in a darkroom watching my images develop was the greatest feeling in the world. And while I missed those days, seeing your face light up when I show a quick image on the back of my camera screen, makes my day.
For me photography is about telling stories that matter and being able to add a little of my personality to it too.
I focus primarily on lifestyle, events, portraits and product photography.
My photography style is a mix of candid and posed and you don’t have to be a model to stand in front of the camera. We’ll sit and chat to discuss what story you want to tell and do it in a way that’s comfortable for us both.
Why I do the type of photography I do
The mummy in me understands how quickly our little ones can grow up and it helps to know you can look back and see all your tiny humans have experienced. That’s why I love lifestyle photography, it starts from the beginning of your journey. Your journey as a mummy-to-be, the moment of birth, having a baby at home and just enjoying time as a family. Not stressed out out trying to force a smile and break up the siblings from fighting, but just sitting back doing what you usually do and letting the moments happen as they happen.
I love attending events. The food. The people. The time to enjoy myself and tell a new chapter of my story. Your event has its own story to tell too. You want to show patrons having fun and ensure that your sponsors are adequately highlighted as well, so they’ll both want to come back next year.
I know that standing in front of a camera can be intimidating, I get it. Maybe that’s why I prefer to stand behind the lens. But I also understand how important it is to take as many photos as possible, even if you’re a little camera shy. And to embrace you and who you are with confidence.
Products are interesting all by themselves. They help to highlight a brand and make the public aware that a certain product even exists. And it’s fun to make that product stand out for you.
Fun facts about me
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m at home chilling with my family. Eating ice cream – any flavour except ones with peanut butter or bubble gum. Using my glue glue to help with yet another class project. Washing hair. Giving tickles. Kissing away tears or …
I’m a self-proclaimed ambivert and while I love the mix and mingle of family and friends, I love those quiet moments alone. Lost in my own thoughts, hopes and dreams.
I love to eat. I eat more than my husband and children combine. I just love to try new tastes and if it’s a win – fantastic. The ‘weirdest’ thing I’ve tried so far is crocodile cakes, but I know there’s so much more to taste. But I draw the line when it looks like what it is and was nearly in tears the last time I ordered lobster and didn’t realise it was coming in the shell.
